Tri-Board presentations

You should use a regular cardboard tri-board to display the information outlined below:

  1. 3 Scrapbooks
  2. 1 Author Study in a report cover
  3. Time line of the author’s life that includes at least 15 events both personal and artistic posted somewhere on the board
  4. Letter to the author describing what you like and dislike about his or her style and work.  Think about the subject matter, style of writing, etc. posted somewhere on the board
  5. A picture, illustration, or other creative depiction of each of the 3 books you read including the title of the book and a significant scene – similar to a book jacket picture, posted somewhere on the board
  6. Bibliography – should be the same as the Author Study bibliography, posted somewhere on the board.  May use an index card
  7. Author’s name needs to be posted prominently on the front of the board.  Your name and reading teacher need to be posted on an index card on the back.

Remember that neatness, creativity, and visual appeal are important.  Use borders with construction paper, color, neat letters, and neatly typed writing to help with this.  Make sure the board is unified and makes sense.  Do not assume the judge knows what you are talking about.  Give enough details that they can figure it out.  Pictures may come from clipart or the Internet, but anything done by hand is always appreciated.  The idea is to be creative.  You don't always have to draw something.  Anything a little 3-D and colorful can make a board stand out.  Good luck!
